Francesco G. Salituro, Ph.D. is currently the VP of Chemistry at Sage Therapeutics and has been a scientific leader in pharmaceutical industry for over 31 years. He has successfully driven drug discovery programs across multiple therapeutic areas.  Francesco has over 60 scientific publications, over 65 issued US Patent and has also served as Chairman of the prestigious Gordon Research Conference on Medicinal Chemistry. 

Francesco received his B.S. in Life Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Outside of career and EFNE, Francesco pursues several passions including cooking, wine, gardening, art collecting, and music.  He has played in several “garage bands” over the past 15 years and is co-owner of AudioArt, a state-of-the-art audio/theater store located in Sudbury, MA. 

Francesco’s son, Joseph had epilepsy and passed away from SUDEP in 2011 at the age of 27.  Since then, he, along with his wife Victoria founded “Joseph’s HOPE” which has raised over 80K for EFNE since its inception in 2013.  Francesco and his wife Victoria, reside in Marlborough, MA and have three children, Michelle, Eric and, Joseph (beloved).
